One of the most famous and immediately recognizable prints of the set, the downpour at Shono is also considered one of Hiroshige's greatest works. Part of the wonder is again the work of the printers, with shadowy waves of trees repeating themselves on the horizon, a hazy background against the colorful figures struggling up and tumbling down the slope to find cover.
