The winds at Yokkaichi Station were said to be sacred, blwoing from the breath of the great Shinto Gods at Ise. Here, however, they are playing playful havoc on a traveler with a round straw hat, who chases his rolling headgear down the narrow road, trying to save it from the water. Another traveler on the bridge has his cloak blown behind him, while the willow tree with its tangling branches provides yet further measure of the strong breezes from Ise.
