The Miya of Miya Station means shrine, and this print shows one of the great shrine festivals, occuring in the shadows of its Torii Gate. Miya was one of the largest stations on the road, and is today the city of Nagoya. The horse-driving festival was held once a year at the Atsuta Shrine. The V-shape used here to suggest forward motion is an interesting comporitional device.
