In a moment of comedy, an unaccustomed traveler tumbles from his horse as he attempts to dismount in Hiroshige's vision of Totsuka. Ironically, another version of the print shows the traveler mounting the horse, perhaps on request of the publisher, who wanted a less biting version. Beyond the inn one can seee the hills of the area and the familiar thatch-rooved huts.
