Leaving Edo behind, the traveler's first stop along the Tokaido Road outside was Kawasaki, famous today for its factories and smog, but a gorgeous site in Hiroshige's day. He shows us a scene of pilgrims crossing on a ferryboat, Mt. Fuji making an appearance for the first time.
