At the southern tip of Edo, on the bay, was the small town of Shinagawa, which boasted an illegal pleasure quarter that rivalled the Yoshiwara. Hiroshige provides us with a scenic view of the coastline, huts huddled on the shore as sailing ships gather in the near distance.
