香港名畫家張韶石(1913-1991) 牡丹畫
The painting was dated September, 1947
Zhang is a native of Panyu, Guangdong. He moved to Hong Kong in 1939. In the Sino-Japanese War period, he moved around Macau and Vietnam. After the war, Zhang settled in Hong Kong and found the Mulanhua Studio to teach students.
Zhang Shao Shi studied painting from his uncle Zhang Xunzhu. He excelled in painting flowers, and was particularly noted for painting peonies. Occasionally, he also painted figures, ladies and landscapes.
Zhang Shao Shi's works were widely exhibited in Hong Kong and Southeast Asia. His works were featured in solo exhibitions at the St. John's Catheral, Hong Kong (1939 . 1960 . 1963-67), Cecil Hotel, Hong Kong (1953-1955), City Hall, Hong Kong (1968-1976 . 1979), Hong Kong Arts Centre (1978), etc. His works were also featured in joint exhibitions including a touring exhibition to Vietnam (1942-1945) and the exhibitions 'Peonies by Zhang Shao Shi' (City Hall, Hong Kong - 1982-1991), etc.

生平略歷
廣東番禺人。1939年移居香港。中日抗戰期間,曾寓居澳門、越南等地。戰後定居香港,設木蘭花館授徒。有《張韶石遺作紀念畫冊》等行世。
張韶石曾隨伯父張純初習畫。他擅繪花卉,尤精於畫牡丹,有「牡丹王」之譽,間亦繪畫人物、仕女、山水等。
展覽資料
張韶石作品曾於香港及東南亞多次展出。個展包括香港聖約翰教堂個展(1939.1960.1963-1967)、香港思豪酒店個展(1953-1955)、香港大會堂個展(1968-1976.1979)、香港藝術中心個展(1978)等。聯展包括越南海防、河內、西貢、堤岸等地巡迴展(1942-1945)、「牡丹畫展」(香港大會堂.1982-1991)等。
