Sesshu ³·¦à (A.D. 1420-1506) Imina ¿Ð: Toyo µ¥´­ Go. Sesshu ³·¦à Unkoku ³·¨¦ S. Muromachi Suiboku school. Pupil of Shubun. One of the greatest masters of suiboku-painting in the Muromachi period. L & C. Born in Bitchu. Lived in Shokokuji Temple in Kyoto when young. His azana or go "Sesshu" was given to him when about forty years old. It is said that a painter called Sesso was young Sesshu. In 1467 or 1468, he went China and he came back in 1469. After returning from China, he made many paintings in Bungo and Suo.
